Types of Bets in Roulette

Roulette is a game based on pure chance, and it offers a variety of bets that can add excitement to your casino gaming. After you have placed your bets, the croupier (that’s what they call the dealer in Roulette) will spin the wheel and throw a ball into it. Then, as the ball bounces around the wheel, it will eventually come to rest in one of the numbered pockets on the table. If your number is hit, you’ve won!

Each person at a roulette table will get his or her own colored chips to distinguish bettors from each other. When the game is between decisions, you can place your winning bets on the side of the table where a marker has been placed. The dealer will then place the winning numbers and winners’ chips on the board, collect all losing bets, and pay out the winning bettors.

You can place a bet on a single number, or you can make a bet on an entire column or row of numbers. These bets are called outside bets and have higher payouts than other types of bets. For example, a Straight-up bet wins 35 to 1 on each dollar you wager.

Another popular bet is the Dozens Bet, also known as a Douzaine in French. This is where you bet that the winning number will be in the first dozen (1-12), second dozen (12-36), or third dozen (36-36) on the table layout. This bet pays out 2-1 if it wins, but if the number zero comes up, you lose.

Other bets include the High or Low bet, which is a type of Even Money bet that pays out 1:1. You are betting that the winning number will be in either the first 18 numbers on the table (1-18) or the last 18 numbers (19-36). If a 0 or 00 comes up, you lose.

Other bets are called Outside Bets, which are a group of bets that cover a large area on the board. These bets are easier to win than inside bets, but they offer lower payouts. For instance, a Street bet, which covers four consecutive numbers on the board, pays out 11-1. In addition, the Corner Bet and the Six-line bet both have a payout of 5-1.
